TIPS FROM TEACHERS
This month's tip comes from Christina Kersey who is a middle school math teacher.
Symbaloo is a valuable resource for both teacher and student. To create a webmix, I gather materials such as practice pages, videos, help sites and examples for my students by unit. I can then post this on Google Classroom where students can access the materials as needed.
Reasons why I like Symbaloo:

Reasons why I like Symbaloo:
- It is easy to use!
- You can always make changes and updates.
- You can publish and unpublish to the public as needed.
- It is a visual bookmarking tool.
- I can model organization for students.
- Students can easily make their own Symbaloo.
Classroom Spotlight
8th grade students just finished learning about photography at the South Vermillion Middle School with the new art teacher Mrs. Angel Spangler. They learned about various photography terms like the rule of thirds, backlighting, burst and panoramic. Every student used their school issued I-Pads and only took the photos at school so to be on the same playing field. They took various types of photos such as shadows, portraits, action shots, reflective and mirror to name a few. Students were allowed to use various photography apps that were in the SVMS app portal like color effects, be funky and phonto.
At the end of the unit, the students were able to produce high quality photographs ready for display. These are a few samples taken by some of the 8th grade students.
