Learn Zillion is packed with lesson plans, instructional videos and hands on learning activity instructions. Even better, there is a Common Core Navigator that will link you with related content and plans! All lessons are developed by experienced teachers!

HOW I USE IT - Words From a Teacher (graphite.org)
I've used it multiple ways:
1) To give myself a deeper understanding of the subject matter by watching it on my own
2) Sending it home for parents to watch to gain an understanding of what was being taught in class, so they could talk with their students using the same vocabulary I do.
3) Having high students watch at their leisure and write about the lessons and what they learned
4) Having low students review lessons they didn't master or preview lessons that were coming up.
5) Learning stations or enrichment stations.
6) I've also downloaded their slides and used them for my own lessons.
7) Flip the lesson with these videos!
Examples:
Grade 6 Math - Read and write an algebraic expression containing a variable
Grade 7 Math - Describe 2-dimensional cross sections of right rectangular prisms
Grade 8 Math - Describe the rate of change on an interval using a graph
Algebra - Write linear equations based on story problems
Geometry - Prove whether a figure is a rectangle in the coordinate plane
Statistics & Probability - State the null and alternative hypotheses
Grade 6 English - Ensure clear meaning by using correct subject pronouns
Grade 7 English - Generate claims - Text Evidence
Grade 8 English - Infer meaning in a poem
Grade 9 & 10 - Analyze a writing prompt to organize for informational writing
Grade 11 & 12 - Create a clear and coherent thesis
Side note: It takes less than five minutes to set up, unless you are setting up a whole class, then it will take a bit longer.

This has quickly become one of my favorite tools for teaching history and current events! All Indiana teachers can access NBC Learn at http://indiana.nbclearn.com
Teachers can search under several categories:

Teachers can also search by standard!
I went into the standards and searched under Indiana, Health and 9th grade. The following video was listed under H.W.1.1 and it is topic that students understand! This is a great way to create relevancy while teaching content standards!
Diet Drinks and Heart Health

Common Sense Media, one of the front runners of digital citizenship education, has created a great resource for teachers who are searching for that perfect tool. Too often we search a topic with digital tool in the search line only to receive too many results! It is difficult to decipher which tool is worth the time. Graphite.org is much like Consumer Reports Online because you can now read reviews (written by educators or technology specialist) about apps and view the overall rating of the app. You can narrow your search by grade, device, cost, subject, skill, great with and great for.
The website also offers several other options including Common Core Explorer. Now you can find a core aligned ed tech tool.

I checked out the Common Core Explorer and searched under Math --> HSG (High School Geometry) --> Congruence --> HSG.CO.1 --> Bingo! 12 products for this standard! I quickly found out which tools to use and which to avoid.
