CHALLENGE
Symbaloo Badge
(January/February)
In this challenge, you will be led through blogs that offer ideas, tutorials and assessments. All will give you the skills to be able to create your own Symbaloo webmix. Symbaloo quite honestly can save you time and headaches! Christina Kersey will tell you that she has saved countless minutes/hours in a week by implementing a class Symbaloo webmix for her students. She included the most often used websites and helpful videos/tutorials. Joni McLain also uses Symbaloo as a home portal for all things technology. In the room she displays the short link for the webmix as well as a QR code.
She states the tool needed and students are off and working without the headache of typing in web addresses.

ONLINE COMMON CORE RESOURCES
Common Core is upon us as testing changes throughout education. Below are several websites that can offer supplemental teaching resources and practice for students.
The first is Common Core Sheets. This tool offers several practice worksheets as well as tests. While it is geared more towards middle school, this could still be a great remedial resources for students.
Learn Zillion is another that offers fantastic videos for learning. By using the common core navigator teachers can narrow in on specific standards. Both English and Language Arts range from third through twelfth grade.
Achievethecore.org offers free accounts that allow teachers to access lesson plans, planning resources, assessments, writing samples, professional development modules and student support materials for all levels. Resources are available for Math and ELA at both the middle school, high school levels, and elementary.
