There are times when it is necessary, as a parent, to research apps and websites. The problem that most people face is an overabundance of websites that claim to provide THE answer. With this being the case, we would like to provide you with some websites that will allow you to become the guide for your student.
Common Sense Media
Common Sense Media covers a vast array of topics and concerns from movie reviews to digital citizenship programs for schools. Parents Concerns offers an incredible collection of resources and in this situation parents can view the "Cell Phone Parenting" section. Click here to view the page for ages 13 and older.

Empowering Parents
This website functions under the premise that parents did not grow up with technology and thus parenting with technology in the picture is a new situation! The website offers a collection of articles that offer suggestions on limits and identifying overuse as well as inappropriate apps.

Careful Parents
Careful parents is a website with content created by parents for parents! They offer a wonderful section on Using Products, iPhone Apps, Device Apps and the Internet. The website has a Pinterest feel but offers an article or page for each app that is featured in each category previously listed. Parent input and feedback are very important for the website functionality as well. Parents can submit an Alert for other parents and join a parent forum for updates.

iKEEPSAFE
The premise of this website is quite simple: "You don't have to be a computer expert to keep your child safe online!" The variety of articles and posts includes: cyber safety, digital citizenship, balance of tech vs face to face time, parent guide to Facebook, safety index reports, and more information to help keep students safe from scams online. Most importantly, iKEEPSAFE offers a Parent App! This app will assist you in determining the best steps to take to hep your child become a safe and smart user of devices.
