HOW I USE IT - Words From a Teacher (graphite.org)
I've used it multiple ways:
1) To give myself a deeper understanding of the subject matter by watching it on my own
2) Sending it home for parents to watch to gain an understanding of what was being taught in class, so they could talk with their students using the same vocabulary I do.
3) Having high students watch at their leisure and write about the lessons and what they learned
4) Having low students review lessons they didn't master or preview lessons that were coming up.
5) Learning stations or enrichment stations.
6) I've also downloaded their slides and used them for my own lessons.
Kindergarten and First Grade are still in development as they are seeking experienced teachers to help create lessons. Plan to see these lessons next school year!
Second Grade Math Example: Identify Quadrilateral
Third Grade Math Example: Placing Fractions on a Number Line
Fourth Grade Math Example: Identify Questions that can be answered with a graph
Fifth Grade Math Example: Use multiplication to find volume of a solid figure
Second Grade English Example: Identify the time period of a story
Third Grade English Example: What makes a poem a poem?
Fourth Grade English Example: Make predictions about a text (Jamestown Settlers)
Fifth Grade English Example: Organized and evidence for constructed response
Overall a great and multi-faceted resource!
Side note: It takes less than five minutes to set up, unless you are setting up a whole class, then it will take a bit longer.

This has quickly become one of my favorite tools for teaching history and current events! All Indiana teachers can access NBC Learn at http://indiana.nbclearn.com
Teachers can search under several categories:
Teachers can search under several categories:
Teachers can also search by standard!
I went into the standards and searched under Indiana, Health and 5th grade. The following video was listed under IN 5.1.1 and it is topic that students understand! This is a great way to create relevancy while teaching content standards!

Science: Learn by Problem Solving
I have not been so excited about a tool in a long time! Mosa Mack offers introductory videos similar to Pearson as well as follow up activities. Key Words: Collaborative, Problem Solving, Project Based.
Important: You must create an account to obtain all of these resources. I do not anticipate having individual students watch the video. Rather, the video is viewed as a class and then problem solving in groups.
I have included some resources from a lesson called Photosynthesis:
